There should be no concern over pension payments and their regular alignment, the Minister of Social Welfare, Family Care and Demography, Damir Gutic, has stated.
He’s noted that funds for pension payments have been ensured and pensioners are going to receive them regardless of the fact that the budget still hasn’t been adopted.
“Given that pensions are paid backwards, that is, January pensions, which are the subject of the first regular legal adjustment of rights from pension and disability insurance (PIO), are planned to be paid off on 20 February, this leaves enough space for the adoption of the budget by that date,” Mr Gutic has told the Mina news agency.
He recalls that the government adopted the amendments to the Pension and Disability Insurance Law referring to the so-called proportional pensions, but in the end the law wasn’t passed by the parliament as they expected.
