People with HIV will get medications for three months

People infected with HIV or suffering from AIDS will take their medications for three months.

As Pobjeda reports, this is stipulated by the amendments to the Rules on the Issuing and Prescription of Medicines, according to which antiretroviral therapy (ART, HIV therapy) is issued through so-called extended prescriptions, which has been recently adopted by the Ministry of Health.

The Montenegrin HIV Foundation representatives are satisfied with the changes. As they say, the introduction of extended prescriptions for the prescription of antiretroviral therapy will greatly ease situation to the patients, “because the need for appointments with the infectious disease specialist will be reduced, and therefore for appointments with primary care physicians”.
