People with diabetes can’t get insulin pumps and consumables

A total of 76 Insulin pump users in Montenegro faced a problem a few days ago without any official notification – they could not use insulin pumps because there was no supply of consumables. As CdM learns, there are consumables for insulin pumps. However, as CdM was told by the Health Insurance Fund, the delay in delivery was due to a change in the supplier of this aid in Montenegro. Thus, people suffering from diabetes, whose health is already impaired, are faced with the absurd situation that, because of one signature, they are not able to get consumables for their “pocket pancreas”, and new users can’t even get a pump.

People with diabetes, both adults and children, have the right to receive consumables for an insulin pump every three months, which contains three packages of sets in the form of catheters, reservoirs, batteries…

After receiving approval for consumables at the doctor’s council, they were unpleasantly surprised when they could not get them.
