Officers of the Special Police Department have arrested former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and former adviser to the President of the State Petar Ivanovic, former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milutin Simovic and former State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Nemanja Katnic, and the former head of the Service for Finance, Accounting and Public Procurement Vukica Perovic.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the subject of the criminal complaint and proceedings is the allocation of funds to certain NGOs, in the period from April 2014 to July 2019, contrary to the Decree on the conditions, manner and dynamics of the implementation of agricultural policy measures – the Agricultural Budget for specific years, which organizations benefited from, and Montenegro suffered damage in the amount of over €300,000 in total.
“The police will take the suspects for questioning within the legal term”, the statement concludes.
