“We never learn and understand that we cannot disregard the presumption of innocence in cases like this, and by doing that we take away somebody’s basic human rights guaranteed by European conventions, by writing ‘truths’ that were pre-ordered. Kuljaca has no interest or part in actions that were described in the article. All decisions regarding those cases are a matter of the Parlimaent. If someone wants to do multimillion malversations, then he certainly wouldn’t do it by using party members from local parliaments. It was just the policy of the municipality of Budva, which is dealing with certain projects such as construction, other business plans and projects, building infrastructure for turism development like the case with plateau on Jaz”, said Piperovic.
“This way, you are claiming that Kuljaca did something in order to get illegal property gains for himself or to cause losses to someone else. As a classic example I will give you the example of construction of Aqua park, during which Kuljaca was out of the country, he was in America, so that he had no part in deals and negotiations regarding this project, and anyway, no losses were caused by this project” emphasized the lawyer and added that we should let authorities which will have Kuljaca’s cooperation in full capacity to find out what the real truth is and to determine his innocence.
He pointed out that it is incorrect that the complaint process in “Zavala case” is ongoing, because the verdict has not been written yet, meaning that complaints haven’t even been written yet, let alone submitted.
“As his attorney I claim that this verdict will not remain valid easily. To me as a citizen the perception of the authorities that one man is in charge of all multimillion jobs in Budva just because he was the mayor of Budva at that time is completely confusing. When a person of average education reads this, they will have impression that nobody did anything illegal in Budva, invested, built, politically projected, did all sorts of bad stuff except from Kuljaca, who by the way, and which will be proven soon, did nothing illegal and that will be clear very soon”, said Piperovic.
