Poor Montenegro flight connection with countries of the region

The main reason why regional centers have had poor flight connection is that the aviation business policy is primarily referred to profits of the airline, and non-profitable routes cannot be maintained, the Airports of Montenegro stated. As for the countries of the region, Montenegro has direct flights to Serbia and Slovenia throughout the whole year, that is, with the capitals of these countries, Belgrade and Ljubljana. From May, Montenegro will again introduce flights to Zagreb, Croatia three times a week.

Representatives of the Airports of Montenegro believe that the price policy of this company, including the incentive program and the existing contract with Montenegro Airlines, represents a good basis for introduction of new and even regional routes.

“The Airports of Montenegro will keep maintaining very good relations with the airports from the region, and will try to find ways for assisting airlines that are interested in the development of the regional aviation,“ the Airports of Montenegro noted.

They reminded that Montenegro-Serbia route still has the largest number of flights: “We have five flights on a daily basis to and from Belgrade, and as for Tivat Airport, MA is flying to BG twice a day during winter and even eight times a day during the peak summer season.“

The Airports of Montenegro emphasized the Zagreb-Podgorica route will be introduced again as of 3 May, three times a week.

“As for other countries of the region –Macedonia, Albania, Romania and Bulgaria – flight routes still do not exist,” they told.
