Prince Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia: Montenegro has great potential

Emanuele Filiberto

Montenegro has great potential, it’s attractive for investment in the area of tourism and business sector, while its natural resources are diverse – you have the sea and mountains. I’m sure I’ll be back at the unveiling of monument in honor my great-grandmother, Montenegrin Princess Elena di Savoia, Prince Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia told in an interview for Pobjeda daily.

Prince Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia said he came to Montenegro upon the invitation of the leading Montenegrin Orthodox Church bishop, Metropolitan Mihailo, to find out more about the country of origin of his great-grandmother, the Italian Queen Elena di Savoia, a daughter of the Montenegrin King Nikola.

He was very happy to visit our country in the year when Montenegro and Italy celebrate 140 years of establishing diplomatic relations. He had the opportunity to meet with the Minister of Culture, Mr Aleksandar Bogdanović, and Mayor of Podgorica and discuss the organization of various events, as well as raising the monument in the memory of Queen Elena di Savoia.

“The monument will shape future generations’ understating of the history. It’s difficult to be young nowadays. Maybe people would be more inspired once they hear about her life and everything she was doing,” Prince Filiberto di Savoia said.

As for his relations with the Montenegrin Orthodox Church, he said they have had an extraordinary cooperation, but didn’t want to elaborate on the issue between the Serbian and Montenegrin Orthodox Church as he lacked complete knowledge in this matter.
