High State Prosecutor Andrijana Nastic has confirmed that 12 people were killed in Cetinje yesterday, and that the suspect Aco Martinovic (45) committed suicide.
“Yesterday around 6 p.m., the prosecutor on duty at the Podgorica High State Prosecutor’s Office was informed that firearms had been used in Cetinje and that several people had been killed. Arriving at the scene, an investigation was carried out at six locations, on which occasion it was determined that 12 people had died, two of whom were children”, she has told reporters.
According to her, an investigation was conducted at each location and the collected evidence will be considered in the process.
“The perpetrator committed suicide and this is the sixth location where the investigation was carried out. Prosecutor-police actions are ongoing, which will develop the circumstances under which this event took place”, Nastic has added.
Martinovic killed 4 people at two locations, at the third location he killed 2 children – two brothers aged 10 and 13, and at two other locations he killed one person each. He committed suicide at the sixth location.
Four people were injured and underwent surgery at the Clinical Center of Montenegro.
