“What is happening in the DPS-SDP coalition is unprecedented. It is a triple illegitimacy. First is because of the illegitimate elections; second is because of the disproportion between what has been promised and what has been done, and the third one – because we don’t know who makes up a parliamentary majority. Such lawlessness can only be resolved with a transitional government that would organize the first fair and free elections”, said Radulovic.
He also commented on the capacity of Montenegrin opposition to actually provoke the next change of government.
“Today the political scene offers only two clear choices, the DPS and the Democratic Front. Everything else is, unfortunately, unclear, already seen and nothing new. This is the curse of Montenegro. We know all about the character of our criminal regime and its disastrous effect. However, my opinion is that the problem lies with the alternative. DF’s program is superior. The main problem is reaching critical energy to depose the regime. The cause and culprits are illegitimate and illegal electoral process, electoral mathematics, obstruction by certain media outlets, “analysts and intellectual elite” and, above all, the regime’s opposition”, explained Radulovic.
He said he blames other opposition parties for not supporting DF when it had the most public support – around 30 percent, with a growth potential of up to 35 percent: the Positive Party, which then said it sees its future in the orbit of the current regime; the SNP, which as usual is “waiting for Godo”; the Vijesti daily’s interest-based party URA, the Democrats and Demos parties, which did more damage than good.
“This is what human weakness and stupidity does”, said Radulovic referring to the fact that the regime now has over 30 percent advantage over the opposition. He also commented the poor relations between DF and the newly formed DEMOS.
“Unprovoked, Lekic moved in with insults. Unfortunately, we in the Democratic Front were acquainted with his inappropriate vocabulary, but now it became public. Unlike him, we at DF treat our partners with respect. And this is how we treated him. For the sake of truth, I will say this: DF requires strong individuals, especially as leaders. A few years back, due to certain circumstances and under certain conditions, we decided to follow Lekic. Unfortunately, it turned out that it was the wrong decision. Lekic did not have enough capacity to be a great leader. I can understand that, we all sometimes feel weak, but the ethical dimension I will never accept. To jeopardize dismissal of the regime, to try to do great harm to those who invested everything in you, is extremely unfair to say the least. Had he left politics, had he admitted he is not up to the historic task that was entrusted to him – I could understand. But to establish a new political party is just devastating for the cause; this decision directly benefits the regime”, said Radulovic.
Asked whether they are seeking for a new leader, Radulovic said things are working fine for now, but that “the challenging time ahead of us will give birth to one”.
“He will have to be a man of his word, who has the guts, the vision, charisma and mental strength to resist all temptations”, Radulovic said.
He also spoke about the protests announced for September.
“We are truly patriots. We offered all solutions and are willing to implement them, but we have exhausted all institutional possibilities. We are ready for the ultimate sacrifice to stop the destruction of Montenegro. Patriots and heroes, because we’re doing this for the good of all and not just ourselves. We will not give up, we will be with the people, with those closest to us. I will be in a tent with my son and daughter. Anyone who has a public responsibility and has a face, will come. It is a test for all leaders and public figures. Whoever does not join in is a coward, and whoever wants to go to elections with DPS again is a traitor. There’s room for all well-intentioned people, both under the tent and in the organizing committee. After the magnificent rally in Berane, it’s clear what the people want”, Radulovic concluded.
