Raičević: Private land taxes to be abolished entirely

Dušan Raičević

In an interview for Dan daily, president of the Municipality of Bar, Mr Dušan Raičević, pointed out that residents adhered to all measures of the National Coordination Body, NKT, and now everybody’s gradually getting used to the life with the coronavirus. He underlined that it’s necessary to stick to the recommendations in the coming period as well.

On the salaries during the pandemic, Mr Raičević told that they paid off full amount of the March salary to their employees and the same will be with the one in April, with the exception referring to overtime pays in line with the govt’s decision to abolish them.

As for the measures the Municipality of Bar plans to take in order to help entrepreneurs and the industry, he said: “We have prepared a range of measures for the local assembly to adopt, and it should pass them through a series of conclusions. We will propose – that’s what we planned and right now represents an obligation – two decisions. One refers to the local utility taxes and the other to local administrative taxes. The decision on local administrative taxes decreases almost 30% of tariff items and abolishes all administrative taxes for the industry, especially entrepreneurship, thus wanting to help those who need it the most. The decision on local utility taxes means all taxes that had to be paid on a private land now are abolished.”

When asked whether they expect any kind of assistance from the state, Mr Raičević told: “The only thing we expect from the state is to ensure favorable IMF’s loans for companies in the sector of communal activities.”

Speaking about the possible budget revision, Mr Raičević noted: We won’t do it before the end of August, having in mind that we expect the state budget to generate revenues throughout summer.”
