The situation in real estate turnover is characterized by a large number of irregularities and problems because there is no special law that regulates this area, it was assessed at the constitutive session of the newly formed Real Estate Trade Group within the Board of the Chamber of Commerce.
One of the priorities, they believe, is the adoption of a law on real estate brokerage and lease.
“The absence of regulations governing real estate trade is the reason for the existence of a huge number of illegal actions that cause direct damage to the state, agencies, clients, and indirectly to the entire profession”, Chamber of Commerce stated.
In a statement published on their website, Chamber of Commerce states that the laws on obligations and companies are being applied in this area, but it has proven to be insufficient.
They reminded that special laws in this area in the countries of the region were passed in Slovenia in 2003, Croatia in 2007, Serbia in 2013, while in B&H in 2018 the draft law was adopted.
The representative of the Ministry of Economy, Mr Dragan Vukčević, has agreed that a special regulation is needed and warned that licensing will be necessary.
Representatives of the Directorate for Inspection Supervision, Ms Marina Radulović and Ms Marina Janković, pointed out their readiness to contribute to the quality and sustainability of the future law with suggestions.
The representative of the Savils Properties Company, which also operates in Croatia, Ms Vedrana Keleher, has pointed out that the additional obligations for businessmen will not be much higher, especially not in relation to the benefits of regulation.
Vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce, Ms Ljiljana Filipović, emphasized the importance of regulating the real estate market. She pointed out the data from the Chamber of Business Analysis, which showed that only 49 companies that declare themselves as real estate agencies submitted financial balances for last year, and the fact is that many more of them are engaged in these transactions.
Mr Veselin Dragawas appointed president of the group, while deputy president will be Mr Dušan Ranković, representative of Karmin Real Estate Montenegro Company.
