The fight against Covid-19 is not over yet, and all EU member states have greatly contributed to creating the assistance package at the international level, Greek Ambassador to Montenegro, Mr Panagiotis Parcos, told in an interview for Dan daily.
According to him, Greece has acted well under current circumstances.
“The government has undertaken measures against the spread of the virus immediately, that is, at the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak. Majority of citizens has endorsed restrictions just as the recent survey suggests – four out of five citizens agree on the limitations. No coronavirus case has been recorded since Tuesday. According to the recent analysis published by the Bridge Tank, comparing the Covid-19 outbreak across Europe, Greece is the best performing country in Europe, followed by the Czech Republic and Romania,” Mr Parcos said.
He self-isolated for two weeks in early March, as he returned to Montenegro after a short visit to Greece.
“The Government of Montenegro texted me asking to self-isolate at home and that’s what I did. The coronavirus pandemic hasn’t caused some special difficulties in performing my duties.”
As for Montenegro, he underlined that restrictions against the outbreak were strong and effective.
“The threat still exists, but now we are all better organized to deal with it. The public has become better informed and now they can better cooperate by observing the measures taken.”
