The Republic Institute for Urban Planning and Design, RZUP, has developed the draft plan for the urban project ‘Kasarna Morača’, which envisages building of an opera house. In case the two existing facilities on the urban plot UP1 are to be kept, only their reconstruction or adaptation will be allowed.
Previous draft plan for the UP ‘Kasarna Morača’ was developed by Arhiet company and it caused many speculations of the public. After that, the RZUP decided to do it on their own and developed a new draft plan which offered a completely new spatial organization on a new location, according to Pobjeda daily.
Before the RZUP did the plan, they’d asked for a thorough analysis, conducted by the Council for the Plan Review, and they elaborated all suggestions given during the public hearing.
Planned opera house on the UP1 will include 800-seat auditorium with the orchestra pit and gross volume 15,000 m². As the building itself is going to be quite imposing, improvements in amenity value still haven’t been defined.
The plan envisages removal of 11 facilities, already ruined and empty.
