Key figures in Socialist People’s Party (SNP) Mayor of Berane Dragoslav Scekic and MP Aleksandar Damjanovic have different views of the party future, Dnevne Novine learns.
Whereas Scekic is mentioned as one of candidates for the party leader at the upcoming Congress, Damjanovic is closer to leaving the party, DN’s source claims.
“Damjanovic expects to win the party leader position, whereas Damjanovic wants to try establishing a new party. It is clear that there are two concepts, both of which are directed against Srdjan Milic and Snezana Jonica,” he told DN.
As he added, he still believes a compromise will be eventually reached, having in mind that Scekic and Damjanovic have always cooperated well.
“I think we will agree eventually – either to leave the party or to go to Congress together. However, leaving the party is currently more likely,” The DN’s source said.
As a reminder, the SNP executive board members accepted resignation of the party leader Srdjan Milic at the electronic sitting held on Saturday. Milic will chair SNP until extraordinary party Congress, which will be held within 60 days.
