SD: Law triumphed over political vanity of SDP

“A disgrace that the president and the vice-president of the SDP suffered related to registering the Social Democrats represents the best example of the state they are currently in and an indication of their nervousness caused by the fact that they are aware of spending their last days in power”, the SD stated, adding that they – the right Social Democrats, true admirers of the original social democratic ideas – prevented a “Kolasin scenario” which the SDP intended to apply in Podgorica and then in the whole of Montenegro.

As they stressed, from the very beginning of the political farce about the registration of the Social Democrats, they have warned the vice president of the SDP that it is dangerous to abuse the office for party purposes even if his party chief ordered so.

“We stressed that it was necessary for all of us to move from the demagogic commitment to the rule of law to concrete actions to affirm it. We appealed to the SDP vice-president, who spends his last days in the Government, to interpret the law properly, in order to avoid political and professional disgrace by the Administrative Court, which overturned the decision he had signed as illegal, which was previously obvious,” the SD added.

Unfortunately, this is not the only example of a legal violence executed by the SDP leadership.

They recalled the SDP’s obstruction related to filling parliamentary seats and “political weakness showed by the outgoing Speaker of the Parliament” when he did not invite representatives of the Social Democrats to participate in the alleged “dialogue”. According to them, the dialogue organised by confused SDP leader turns into a struggle for coalition partners within the opposition, since there is not a place for him in the ruling structure any longer.

“Both political farces will be finished in the same way as the issue of party registration did – in their personal and political disgrace, which will result in their moving to the opposition parliamentary benches. That is the right place for them, since they have given up the original social democratic principles and sided with opposition, i.e. their coalition partners from Kolasin,” the SD stated.

The SD welcomes the return of the outgoing interior minister to obeying the law, even when he is forced to it by a court.
