Serbs should form coalition govt with Đukanović

Ivica Dačić

Speaking in a TV show titled “Upitnik”, the foreign affairs minister and first deputy PM in the Government of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, told Serbs in Montenegro should stay in power and form a coalition government with the ruling Democratic Party of Socialists, DPS, led by Milo Đukanović.

“I think Serbs should form a coalition with Milo Đukanović and thus stay in power in Montenegro. Serbs in Montenegro should not deal with serious political matters as they first should enter the government. But, Serbs are Serbs, they never are united and I don’t think they’re going to listen to me,” Dačić said.

On the idea of possible wrong interpretation of his suggestions as meddling into Montenegro’s internal matters, Dačić said: “There’s no other way but to form a coalition. Milo Đukanović has an extra support for forming majority, thanks to Muslims and Croats, that is, their parties, and therefore sees the Serbian parties as distractions. It’s high time to change this.”

The fact that there’s only 7% of Serbs employed in Montenegro’s state authorities is their own fault, that is, their own political representatives, according to Dačić.
