According to the data of Statistical Office of Monteengro (MONSTAT), around 145.076 tourists visited our town in the first ten months of this year. That’s 21,14% more than in the same period on 20174. There have been 236.747 overnights or 9,96% more, said Nina Pajović, representative of the Tourism Organization Podgorica.
She said that seasonality is not very accentuated in Podgorica. They expect positive results in November as well. Rich and attractive holiday program that will last from 19 December to 10 January will certainly have its positive effect.
Positive results are the consequence of a set of factors, such as increased promotion activities, events and organizations of local, regional and international character, and many other activities in our town. More and more tourists are coming from Western-European countries, Scandinavian and Benelux countries.
“Tourists showed great interest in visiting National Park “Skadarsko jezero”, wine cellar “Šipčanik” and winery “Plantaže”. Also, the interest in religious and cultural tourism is great. In that context, Medun with the Museum of Marko Miljanov and archaeological site Duklja take special place. Tourist also like to feel the spirit of the town, and they go to visit Stara varoš, bridge on Sastavci and our beautiful streets downtown”, said Pajović.
