Solution to the MA issue to be found by the end of the year

President of the Council for Competition Protection, Mr Miodrag Vujović, said that they had agreed with the representatives of the European Commission that solution to Montenegro Airlines issue should be found not later than the end of December this year.

“It was agreed that they should try to find solution in the dialogue with the EC not later than the end of the current year”, said Mr Vujović.

As he explained, bankruptcy and liquidation, as well as strategic partner, are options to be taken into consideration in the strategy which is going to be adopted at the Government’s level. Mr Vujović recalled that the Government had formed working group for the MA development strategy.

Last year national air company was granted €7,2 million of state aid. Amending budget for the current year provides up to € 5,5 million for the purposes of the Ministry of Transport.

Mr Raško Konjević said that state aid granted to MA was unlawful, is it hadn’t been reported to the Agency for Competition Protection.

He said he would refer the entire documentation on the case to the prosecutor, since it had caused over € 20 million of damage. He recalled that since February 2013, MA hadn’t been paying contributions to employees. He called on the Agency to undertake measures prescribed by law.

Mr Vujović said what Mr Konjević said was true but added that every decision rendered by the Agency had been in accordance with the law. He pointed out that the Agency lacked capacity as only two employees were in charge of state aid.

Member of SD, Mr Boris Mugoša, said that Montenegro needed MA and that a sustainable model had to be found.

Electronic fiscalization shouldn’t be late

Minister of Finance, Mr Darko Radunović, said that the application of the Law on Electronic Fiscalization should start in January next year, as planned.

Following the unanimous support of the members of the Committee, Minister said that its application would increase annual revenues from €13 million to €17 million.

He said that he was thinking about how to help small taxpayers relieve burden of the e-fiscalization costs.
