In a letter previously sent to the Chinese Exim Bank, which Pobjeda had access to, Minister of Finance Milojko Spajić has asked for an extension of the period of loan funds availability, a grace period and a repayment period by 3 years. The letter was written after DPM Dritan Abazović asked the European Parliament for help in freeing Montenegro from the domination of China and Russia.
Russia has so far responded by stopping all tourist flights to Montenegro, and the Chinese bank has initially agreed to the first request and extended the deadline for withdrawing loan funds for the completion of the first highway section, which expired on 14 April.
Minister Spajić said then that this move saved us €128m.
