The main destabilising factors in Montenegro are backed directly by Russia. Not because Montenegro is so important to Russians, but because it’s very suitable for them to compete with the EU and provoke NATO. For that reason, the stability and European future of the Balkans depend, among other things, on the agreement among Russia, the EU and the US, said a member of the Croatian parliament and former Croatian Foreign Affairs Minister, Vesna Pusic.
“No one outside the region perceives the inauguration of Metropolitan of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Joanikije, as questioning the right of Montenegro to exist as an independent country,” Ms Pusic assessed for Pobjeda daily.
According to her, it’s why it’s very important to publicly warn and talk about that fact, adding that a stable, efficient government, a clear integration policy of the WB conducted by the EU and a broader agreement among the big players (US, Russia and EU) over the security in Europe is needed to halt frequent pressure on Montenegro.
“The main destabilising factors in Montenegro are directly backed by Russia,” she noted.
