State takes €0.77 per liter of petrol

Fuel prices have risen from €0.10 to €0.13 this year, prompting political party representatives to re-raise the issue of lower fuel prices. Dan has asked the Ministry of Finance and Social Welfare, headed by Minister Milojko Spajić, whether it has considered reducing excise duties on fuel, and whether there is room in the budget to reduce these duties.

The Ministry is analyzing all possibilities in connection with fuel excise duties, it says. One of the priorities of the Ministry and the Government is to deal with illegal activities, because the focus is on the grey economy suppression, which would lead to additional income. This opens space for more possibilities in terms of fuel excise duties and excise policy in general, the Ministry explains. When determining the amount of excise duty on mineral oils, their derivatives and substitutes, it is necessary to take into account the total budget revenues, the Ministry says.

Currently, petrol prices amount to €1.3 and €1.27 per liter, while EuroDiesel costs €1.13 per liter.
