Deceived citizens claim that the main culprits are lawyer Nikola Bulatovic and former MP for the SNP Neven Gosovic who admitted hiring Bulatovic. Allegedly, the citizens have never seen Bulatovic nor were they aware that he represented them in a court case.
After Dnevne Novine daily has covered the story for several days and published a number of lists with personal data of the deceived citizens, the Supreme State Prosecutor’s Office has announced it will determine whether citizens’ signatures were counterfeit in the aforementioned process.
“According to the report of Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica, which has been submitted to the Supreme State Prosecution, we inform you that the Basic State Prosecutor in Podgorica formed the case file to determine the existence of significant elements of the criminal offense that is prosecuted ex officio and if there is a guilt of a certain person. The process is in the stage of the inquest,” the Supreme State Prosecutor stated.
According to the findings of Dnevne Novine daily, majority of case files were submitted to the prosecutor’s office by the Socialist People’s Party to prove that they had never launched the case, but that the individuals, who are no longer members of the party, were directly involved and organised everything without the party leadership being aware of that.
As suspected, without a large number of citizens being aware of that, someone initiated the lawsuit against the EPCG by forging their signatures. The aim of the case was returning the money they had paid for losses in the network. The lawsuit was launched in 2011 and the verdict was issued in December 2013. Recently, the public bailiff Maja Ajkovic from Niksic has sent warnings for costs collection, which shocked the majority of the citizens. They have been contacting Dnevne Novine for days, pointing out that had not signed power of attorney to Bulatovic and that they had never seen him.
According to the verdict of the Basic Court in Niksic, the court fees which citizens must pay to the EPCG amount to €71,830. They are also obliged to settle the costs of the execution procedure amounting to €27,900.
