Crypto market analyst Novak Svrkota says in an interview for Gradska RTV that Montenegro is at the very beginning of the regulation of crypto trade, more precisely further than we were two years ago.
Commenting on President of Montenegro Jakov Milatovic’s statement that he and PM Milojko Spajic got their wires crossed because of his advocacy for Montenegro to become a “crypto-paradise” as it would allegedly stop our European path, Svrkota says that it is untrue.
He points out that the plan was to stand up for crypto, as a country, in negotiations with the European Union.
He points out that Milatovic and Spajic are completely different and that this is the true explanation of Milatovic’s statement that investing in crypto means anti-European integration.
According to him, the negative side of the crypto story can only be related to law enforcement, especially in the area of asset origin.
He says that one of the preconditions is to carry out a reform of the banking sector.
“Our banking sector is quite outdated and quite closed, it is the continental European model, so we have to change that banking sector as well”, said our interlocutor.
Svrkota says that we left a bad impression by saying that we would enter the crypto world, and when the leading companies from the crypto industry showed interest, we did nothing. So, he concludes, that is worse than not promising a crypto paradise.
