The European Parliament (EP) rapporteur on Montenegro, Charles Tannock, yesterday urged all the opposition parties to return to the parliament and take part in the Committee on further reform of electoral and other legislation, writes Pobjeda daily.
Mr Tannock emphasized he has been pleased with the fact a part of the opposition had already returned to the parliament, and invited other political entities to take part in its work.
“All political parties should take part in the work of the Parliament, and the Committee on further reform of electoral legislation as well. Moreover, the recently held presidential elections were conducted in line with the fundamental freedoms, but still there’s space for further improvements of the electoral legislation. I’d also like Montenegro to have even more professional State Audit Institution,” said Mr Tannock while presenting the Resolution on the Report of Montenegro – to be voted on today.
MEP Tannock also said “the country progresses well and it’s a lead candidate for the EU accession”.
