Government with no budget and support
It’s June and Montenegro, as MP Mr Rasko Konjevic claims, is the only country in Europe that has no budget. Public services as well as the entire civil service system suffer and it looks like everything is about to collapse right before the start of the summer tourism season. Minister Milojko Spajić urges the adoption of the budget, while other ministers, like Mr Aleksandar Stijovic, are throwing away their folders nervously, yelling and insulting farmers in the parliament. A group of milk producers from the town of Danilovgrad told him not to insult them if he can’t or don’t know how to help them. “There’s no budget in sight, and almost all works in the field have been completed except for mowing and harvesting,” they reminded.
Blackmail threats of DF
After a series of messages that the PM and the government don’t have support and trust of MPs from the ‘For the Future of Montenegro’ coalition, the leaders of all parties within this coalition (except for PM Krivokapic and the leader of Real Montenegro, Mr Marko Milacic) held an urgent meeting yesterday to redefine relations within the bloc. They directly called on the Civic Movement URA and the Democrats to discuss the future of the bloc.
“After PM Zdravko Krivokapic gave up on the signing of the Fundamental Agreement with the Serbian Orthodox Church, SPC, basic principles of our coalition have been undermined. After this move, we lost our patience for Mr Krivokapic and won’t support him until he fulfils his promise with no delay,” they stated.
The PM now has only Mr Milacic’s Montenegro, which doesn’t want “to destabilize government”, as they said.
Will party positioning solve everything in this specific case or Mr Krivokapic, the Democrats and URA will remain committed to their views – we shall see.
Srebrenica resolution blocked
The parliamentary Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms didn’t endorse yesterday the proposal for the Srebrenica genocide resolution. Four MPs voted against it, three in favor of it, while two abstained.
The outcome of voting came as a result of voting of the Democrats MP Albina Ceman, who abstained.
The Bosniak Party harshly criticized him for this.
Staff reassignments
Following yesterday’s speculations that PM Zdravko Krivokapic dismissed the government’s Secretary General, Bozo Milonjic, Mr Milonjic told Vijesti TV that he wasn’t dismissed but has been on a vacation since yesterday. However, he could be dismissed after he returns, Vijesti reports.
First flight of national airline Air Montenegro
Montenegro’s flag carrier set for its first flight from Podgorica yesterday. The plane wasn’t marked with the company’s logo. First passengers were football players from the Montenegrin national team who went to Sarajevo. The first commercial flight will be arranged on 10 June to Belgrade, while in the end of month, it’s going to fly to Banja Luka as well.
Andrijasevic’s low ability of introspection
Dean of the Faculty of the Montenegrin Language and Literature, Adnan Cirgic, fiercely criticized the recent text of a historian, Zivko Andrijasevic. Mr Cirgic reproaches Mr Andrijasevic that he can’t take responsibility for the current situation, but likes to blame others. In addition, he reproaches him for interpretation of the current situation and hushed silence over the situation in that country.
That’s all for today. Have a nice day.
