According to the latest data of the Statistical Office of Montenegro (MONSTAT), the average gross salary in August was €1.210, while the average net salary stood at €1.015.
Net earnings rose by 0.1% compared to July and by 17.9% compared to the previous year. However, with consumer prices increasing by 0.5% on a monthly basis, real wages saw a 0.4% decline.
By sectors, the biggest monthly growth in net pays was recorded in public administration and defence (2%), administrative services (1.9%), and other service activities (1.5%). The sharpest declines were seen in health and social care (-2.1%), hospitality (-1.7%), and arts, entertainment and recreation (-1.7%).
