Unpaid overtime in June, extension of contracts for July and August, selection of heads of educational institutions – these are just some of the issues that staff in schools are struggling with, and it’s all happening due to the decisions of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, run by Ms Vesna Bratic.
School staff claim that the afore-mentioned ministry abolished payments for overtime, and that they found about it verbally. A math teacher in Radojica Perovic elementary school and a member of the Main Board of the Teachers’ Trade union, Mr Radomir Bozovic, confirmed this for Dan daily.
According to him, there’s another unsolved issue related to the payment for overtime to teachers who were working from their homes and in classroom during the pandemic. Mr Bozovic says that he initiated dispute because the Agency for Peaceful Settlement of Disputes suspended the case after the ministry refused to cooperate and agree over payments.
