Accusations that Markovic is the head of a clan that is organizing illegal distribution of cigarettes were made by the police inspector Predrag Sukovic.
„Special prosecutor’s office does not deem it necessary to organize a hearing of the vice president of the government Dusko Markovic. Special prosecution is leading the investigation and undertaking all necessary actions typical for this type of case, in order to make a decision whether to press criminal charges against certain individuals”, it was said to Pobjeda from the prosecution.
Story about Markovic and the councellor of the president of the country Veselin Veljovic as supposed hidden bosses of a criminal clan from Mojkovac was published in a newspaper Vijesti only a day after Pojeda reported that there is an ongoing investigation against Predrag Sukovic that under the alias “Boss” threatened to vice president of the government Dusko Markovic.
Sukovic told Vijesti that investigation against him is actually a revenge of Dusko Markovic and Veselin Veljovic because Sukovic lead an investigation in 2012 about the operation of the factories „Montenegro Tobaco Company” in Podgorica’s suburb Donja Gorica, Mojkovac and Kolasin. Sukovic’s story was denied by his colleagues.
In official announcement of the Police directorate it was stated that Predrag Sukovic never lead an investigation on cigarettes smuggling. Investigation of the prosecution confirmed this later.
