Around seventy women with children, wives of killed fighters of this terrorist organization, are in special ISIL camps in Syria. They are held captives because their husbands had signed that they would never come back to their original countries.
Three widows from Montenegro can be found among all these women. Around 58 of them are from Bosnia and Herzegovina and 11 are from Kosovo.
Some of them tried to escape but they failed to do that. Since their security is endangers, their identity is kept secret. There are around 130 children in those camps.
These women have been deprived of their ID documents as soon as they stepped in Syria and they have no status. Any at all. They are obliged to serve the ISIL and, as one of the former fighters said in the Higher Court in Podgorica, these women are commanded by the wife of the killed Mirza Heklaj.
Several citizens of Montenegro were killed at battlefields in Syria, whereas some of them couldn’t be traced at all and they were declared dead.
Administration for Organized Crime and Prevention of Terrorism of the Agency for National Security has been following for years Montenegrin citizens connected to the Islamic country. They have also been keeping the track of the work of 18 NGOs from Montenegro, due to some suspicious donations from Austria and countries of the Near East.
