The Revenue and Customs Administration refused to provide Pobjeda with data on the VAT refund requested by ToMontenegro, citing the institute of tax secrecy stipulated in the Law on Tax Administration.
The institution headed by Aleksandar Damjanovic, after Pobjeda’s insisting on submitting precise data on the amount of the requested VAT refund, the time period for which it was requested and its validity, stated that it was not authorized to do so.
“In accordance with Article 16 of the Law on Tax Administration, which prescribes the institute of tax secrecy, the Revenue and Customs Administration is not authorized to publish data on individual taxpayers”, the Administration says in its response to Pobjeda.
It has thus declared secret the information on how budget users, such as ToMontenegro, dispose of state money.
