Marinas within the coastal resorts in Montenegro welcomed this year somewhat less number of vessels compared to the same period last year, but still the companies running the resorts say they’re quite satisfied with the occupancy and the interest in the berths. According to them, the results are good having in mind the difficulties that the coronavirus pandemic has caused for the nautical tourism.
Representatives of Adriatic Marinas and Luštica Development told Pobjeda daily that current occupancy of marinas in the coastal resorts Porto Montenegro and Luštica Bay amounts to 70%, while the company Azmont Investments says they’re facing low occupancy right now, but it’s going to be better. This marina started with its functioning last year.
Berth occupancy in Porto Montenegro (Tivat), with a capacity to host 450 yachts, is 72% this month.
“It’s significantly lower than last year when the marina was 90% full, but it’s a pretty good result, given all the difficulties caused by Covid-19,” representatives of Adriatic Marinas told, adding that the average berth occupancy this year was by 8% higher compared to last year.
“The reason behind this is a better winter season that we had in the first three months this year compared to the same period last year.“
As for Luštica Development, they told they have been satisfied with this year’s season, primarily due to a 70% occupancy rate of the marina.
“Another reason for our satisfaction is the fact that all contracts for berthing vessels are extended, and we ensured new clients as well,“ they said.
This marina mostly welcomes small vessels, with a small number of crew and passengers.
“Having in mind the entire situation, we as well as users of our services can be satisfied.“
And here’s what representatives of Azmont Investments say: “Due to the global pandemic, plans and business have changed. Although the marina occupancy is currently low, it’s slowly increasing day by day, and in these challenging times we are focused on customers, and what is important to us is that they are satisfied with our services.”
This marina is designed to accommodate yachts and superyachts up to 120 meters, and currently welcomes mostly motor yachts and sailboats.
As for the upcoming winter season, Azmont Investments says they’ve decided to offer special prices for all clients interested to book berths in Portonovi.
“The number of requests is getting higher and we’re happy to see that our potential clients recognize us as a ‘safe harbor’,“ the company noted.
