Traffic jams at border crossings

At the Sitnica and Sukobin-Muricani border crossings, drivers will encounter traffic jams.

According to readers of the Radio Jadran news portal, there are kilometres long car columns waiting to enter Montenegro from Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The Border Police Department confirmed the Radio Jadran that there were crowds. It added that there was a huge inflow of vehicles and that a standard checking procedure was applied.

“The procedure is conducted in accordance with the law and the checks last for a maximum of 20 minutes per vehicle,” the police say.

A similar situation is registered at the Debeli Brijeg and Kobila border crossings with Croatia.

There are also jams at the Sukobin-Muricani crossing. According to the UL-info news portal, about 8,000 people crossed this border on Tuesday.

Local Tourism Organisation stated that it decided to provide accommodation for several border police officers who would work on the Sukobin crossing in order to speed up the procedure.
