Vujovic: Urgent privatizations of DKP and Shipyard

He said to Dnevne novine today that after recent unsuccessful tender for the sale of majority of shares of DKP, which failed in July because Mojkovac factory Montenegro Duvan commerce didn’t sign the contract in a provided deadline, we should try to find an investor and repeat the tender as soon as possible.

“This is very urgent. We have interest from a couple of investors for buying DKP and we just need to restart the process of its privatization. It would be very important for Montenegro to keep its production of tobacco, because of the production itself, but also because of the cooperants that could contribute largely to this activity”, said Vujovic.

Urgent is also, as he emphasized, a privatization of Adriatic shipyard Bijela, whose tender for sale failed three times after which the company declared insolvency.

As Vujovic said, by the end of the year a tender documentation should also be ready for privatization of HTP Ulcinjska riviera, Institute for ferrous metalurgy in Niksic and the company Montecargo.

On today’s meeting of the Council for privatization there will also be a discussion on privatization of the “Simo Milosevic” institute.

While speaking about privatization of the national airline company Montenegro Airlines, Vujovic said that there were a couple of interested investors, but that they still don’t have convincing information that would persuade them to organize a tender.
