During yesterday’s tour of Zeta, near the newly built children’s playground in Balabani, the mayor of Podgorica, Ivan Vukovic, was attacked verbally and with death threats, and almost physically. Vukovic has confirmed to CdM that he was attacked.
Namely, as CdM has learned, at the moment when Vukovic and his associates started to leave the said location, a car driven by Momcilo Kukulicic was parked in front of them.
After that, Kukulicic, with a barrage of insults and threats, tried to approach Vukovic, but was prevented from doing so by the Communal Police officers.
Kukulicic is allegedly a multiple returnee in committing crimes.
Thus, in the middle of last year, he was arrested because, using a hammer, he attacked a police officer in Zeta.
Kukulicic is a supporter of the Democratic Front, recently employed in the National Parks.
Criminal charges are to be filed against Kukulicic.
CdM has been informed that the competent Prosecutor’s Office was informed about the incident, and that the police were taking measures within their competence on its orders.
Executive Coordinator of the 21. Maj Civic Initiative Ljubomir Filipovic says that he strongly condemns the attack on Vukovic.
“It is obvious that some people think that they can threaten, beat and harass anyone who is not part of this government, because that same government encourages such violent behavior”, Filipovic has tweeted.
The Nova Ljevica Civic Party also strongly condemns this verbal and almost physical attack with death threats on Ivan Vukovic and demands from the competent institutions an urgent reaction and prosecution of those responsible.
On the occasion of the increasingly frequent insults to attacks, threats that occur, both live and through social networks, Nova Ljevica has called on the Police Directorate to become more actively involved, monitor the actions of extreme individuals and take measures and actions in accordance with the law.
