Washington must warn Aleksandar Vucic that his offensive against neighbouring countries to build a Serbian “mini-empire” will be prevented and annulled. This may include various measures – setting up a NATO military unit in Brcko as a warning to Banja Luka, helping build an efficient army in Kosovo that allows the country to qualify for NATO membership and greater support for pro-Montenegrin parties while condemning any reversal in the country’s independence, an American analyst and Senior Fellow at the Jamestown Foundation, based in Washington, Janusz Bugajski, says in a statement for Pobjeda daily.
As a good “knower” of the opportunities in the Balkans, Mr Bugajsko notes that sanctions and verbal warnings won’t calm down Milorad Dodik.
On the political stalemate in Montenegro and possible early elections, he thinks that “tensions will run higher and higher in the government comprising several blocs and early elections will be the only possible solution. The elections will enable Montenegrin patriots reconfirm the country’s identity and Western integration”.
