Complicated epidemiological situation, slow vaccination process and weak activity of the entire system in preparation suggest that the upcoming tourist season could be bad. This would be almost disastrous for the entire Montenegrin economy, given the state’s commitment to tourism as the main branch of the economy. Dan interviewees agree that, if we want the season to be at least 50% of the one experienced in 2019, preparations should start as soon as possible.
“In the pre-season, all arrangements of the French and English tourists for April and May have been canceled, so if there is no pre-season, what to expect in the season or post-season. Guests from the region are welcome, but the situation in there is not good from the financial point of view, so these guests can’t compensate for the absence of guests from the West. The season will be reduced to domestic guests and some tourists from the region. You see, we used to claim that the season was bad if there were 10 rainy days, and what can we expect now”, says Mr Ilija Armenko, a hospitality worker from Petrovac.
