What does Stop Inflation action mean?

Sa sastanka

In response to the problem of rising prices of basic foodstuffs and high inflation rates, the Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism, in cooperation with representatives of the largest retail chains in the country (Voli, Mercator, Lakovic, Aroma, Franca), agreed on a multi-month action called STOP INFLATION which implies the formation of the so-called “anti-inflationary baskets”, says MERT. The new, reduced prices in accordance with the agreement on the “anti-inflationary basket” are scheduled to come into effect on 21 March.

It is clarified that the anti-inflationary basket has been formed in such a way as to contain at least one item from each of the 25 types of agreed products.

The selection of the specific item from the defined type of product is made by the trader himself and forms the price in accordance with the previously reached agreement with the Ministry (the trade margin in retail should not exceed 5%, while the trade margin in wholesale is also limited to 5%).
