Although the Ministry of Economic Development assures us that Montenegro’s revenues are going to hit record highs this year, i.e. over €1bn, and Prime Minister-designate, Dritan Abazovic, claims that the upcoming tourism season is going to be impressive, forecasts are still not so encouraging having in mind the global economic crisis and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

“When you’re making estimations of any kind, and so the ones concerning the upcoming tourism season, we should have in mind that it’s about speculations, as there’s no scientific proof which gives us the right to be sure about tomorrow,” Prof. Vasilije Kostic of the Herceg Novi Faculty of Management and the President of the Montenegrin Association of Entrepreneurs, said.

The facts that encourage such position are: political instability, inflation going up, hindered supply of agriculture and other products, the war in the countries which were important sources for the Montenegrin tourism, the fall of consumers’ purchase power and many other things.
