Wizz Air automates credit upload for passengers on cancelled flights

Wizz Air announced today that, as a result of increased travel restrictions imposed as a response to minimize the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, all passengers affected by flight suspensions will be automatically uploaded 120% of the original fare to their Wizz Air account.

“In addition to introducing an automatic reimbursement process, the airline will temporarily disable the online option for refunds until 14 April 2020 at the latest, in order to process received cancellation requests, which have increased by 100 times lately,” they explained.

The company assures customers that all claims will be handled and that they will be eligible for a refund even if it might take longer than usual.

Passengers who made their bookings via travel agencies – including online travel agencies – should get in touch with the company from which they purchased their tickets.
