CUP accepts minister’s meeting invitation

Crnogorsko udruženje poslodavaca CUP

The Montenegrin Employers’ Association (CUP) will meet tomorrow with the Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Naida Nisic and present to her membership application forms that generate a turnover of €3bn. This is stated in the CUP’s response to the CdM portal’s text, named “Ministry on representativeness of employers’ associations: CUP can address us, UPCG legitimate representative in the Social Council“.

CUP previously announced that it considered the decisions made by the current Social Council in this composition to be illegitimate, bearing in mind that the Employers Association (UPCG) lost its representativeness under Article 198 of the Labour Law because the majority of its members left it and moved to CUP. On this occasion, the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare stressed in a statement for CdM that it was not given the opportunity to review the status of representativeness of employers’ associations, but added that it remained open to cooperation and constructive social dialogue with the aim of successful cooperation.

Today, CUP was told to believe that MRSS will contribute to the adoption of European standards and to respect regional and European experiences that the pluralism of employers’ associations contributes to the strengthening of social dialogue and the creation of a better business environment.
