The European Alliance has announced it will seek the dissolution of the Podgorica City Assembly and call for early elections, arguing that the ruling majority has collapsed after dropping from 31 to 27 councillors.
Alliance representative Milos Maskovic said deteriorating coalition relations have stalled the city’s development, while MP Boris Mugosa expressed hope for broad political support, insisting the initiative is not politically motivated.
For the proposal to proceed, it requires backing from at least 20 councillors, meaning support from the DPS will be crucial. The current city government lost its majority after several councillors withdrew from the ruling coalition.
