Health minister now receives donation of vaccines due to expire

Jelena Borovinić Bojović

Minister of Health, Jelena Borovinic Bojovic, has decided to receive the donation of the AstraZeneca vaccine two months after the offer was made even though they’re due to expire.

According to sources of the CdM portal, the vaccines will be imported only to be destroyed soon after, as their expiration date approaches. The Minister thus wants to soothe her conscience and demonstrate that she’s willing to get the donation, which, according to CdM sources, she first refused so that the people don’t think that President Milo Djukanovic got the credit for it, as he had paid an official visit to Slovakia at the time. In July, CdM published the information that went viral in Bratislava, suggesting that Minister Borovinic Bojovic refused the donation of Slovakia.

There are around 10.000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine available in Montenegro due to expire on 31 August.
