At today’s General Montenegrin Assembly held on Dvorski Trg (eng. Court Square) in Cetinje, bishop Boris Bojovic of Ostrog-Niksic, was elected metropolitan of the Montenegrin Orthodox Church (CPC). Current Metropolitan Mihailo has assessed that the assembly is a failed political rally, that they violated the CPC Constitution, which means that their decision was legally void.

Beside this, the assembly made decision that the current CPC Metropolitan Mihail should retire and to also canonize the restorer of the CPC, Antonije Abramovic, and proclaim him as Saint Antonije, Metropolitan of Montenegro.

Metropolitan Mihailo then reacted, telling that it was about a failed political rally, that is, an unsuccessful coup organised by the “assembly for preservation of the CPC”.
