Laković Drašković: It would be a precedent for each new majority to regulate Prosecutor’s Office as it suits it best

Marijana Laković-Drašković

Ms Marijana Laković-Drašković, a member of the Coordinating Committee of the 21. Maj Civic Initiative has told Pobjeda that the revised version of the draft law on amendments to the Law on the State Prosecutor’s Office would not receive a positive opinion from the Venice Commission, because that would mean politicizing the Prosecutorial Council, that is, placing that body under the auspices of the ruling majority.

A different decision, she believes, would set a precedent according to which each subsequent parliamentary majority would regulate this issue in accordance with its political goals and it would change the law according to the same principle.
