Sahmanovic: Forming fuel reserves and closing Chapter 15 at risk

Admir Šahmanović

President of Montenegro Jakov Milatovic’s decision to return the Law on Security of Supply of Oil Derivatives to the Parliament for a re-decision, brings with it consequences, in the first place jeopardizing the supply of oil derivatives, and on the other hand, it affects the process of European integration, specifically the closing of Chapter 15, Minister of Mining, Oil and Gas Admir Sahmanovic has told Pobjeda.

This legal decision was adopted by MPs at the session of the Parliament on 19 November 2024, and it provides that the formation of oil reserves will be financed from a 3-cent fee that citizens will pay as part of the price per liter of unleaded gasoline, Eurodiesel and liquid petroleum gas.

In the explanation of his decision, Milatovic has stated that this legal solution imposes an additional financial burden on citizens and the economy, and that such impositions can cause serious consequences, including increasing inflationary pressures and impairing the standard of living. Milatovic has pointed out that citizens and the economy already pay taxes that should be used for the purpose of forming oil reserves, which is why he considers it unacceptable to impose additional obligations on them.

Možda je Spajić inventivan, ali mu je i prag rizika veoma… Više »
